New Zealand Fishing
About Us

The Rotorua Professional Trout Fishing Guides Association prides itself on the top quality service provided by its members
Guides You Can Trust

All of our members are licensed and are required to demonstrate knowledge of their equipment and to have an intimate knowledge of the waters they intend guiding on before they are accepted into the Association.
Knowledge, Safety and a Commitment to the Environment
Fly fishing, or boat fishing - our guide’s vehicles and vessels are required to meet rigorous government safety standards, and members are required to pass and maintain current first aid certificates. We work closely alongside the New Zealand Fish and Game Council on issues concerning our fishery, helping to ensure that our world class fishery is preserved.
In the unlikely event of a client experiencing a less than satisfactory fishing trip there is opportunity through our Association’s disputes committee for clients to have their concerns/dissatisfaction addressed.

Our Association Guides Don't Charge More
There is no difference in guiding rates between members of our association and non members, so why consider the services of an inexperienced, unauthenticated or unlicensed guide?

We Stand Behind Our Services
If the name of a guide you are considering does not appear on this web site, or if you have doubts as to the authenticity or claims of a guide, please contact us for verification of membership.
